Greetings, Internet! I hope everyone’s staying as safe and sane as can be. This week, I tried a handcycle for the first time, did karaoke for the first time this year, and went outside multiple times! Daily summaries below!
Day Seven Hundred and Sixty-Four (4/15/22)
- Went to Push to Walk and tried a handcycle for the first time. Got to go outside, which was lovely!
- Dang, handcycling involves way more of your core than I initially anticipated. Also, cardio! It took a few minutes to get the hang of the mechanics.
- The weather is seriously super nice.
- The Mets won their home opener! #LGM
- My boyfriend came over and we watched some of “Dune” (it’s a long movie).
- Wordle: Whoops.
- Currently feeling: Outside! Handcycle!
- Currently looping: The sounds of the New Jersey great outdoors?
Day Seven Hundred and Sixty-Five (4/16/22)
- Watched more of “Dune.”
- Met up with one of the lone friends I made in high school who I haven’t burned a bridge with. I hadn’t seen her in about two years, so ‘twas lovely to catch up! And we got to sit outside for a while, and it was so nice out! Again! Sunlight actually hit my face two days in a row!
- I am far too excited about sunlight.
- Ventured over to the Harry Potter store, but you have to scan a QR code to get in a “virtual” line. Half an hour after my friend and I had finished hanging out, getting food, and going our separate ways, I was notified that we could enter the store. Lol.
- Alas, the Mets did not win.
- Finally started writing an article for a higher education administration volume. It’s difficult to balance writing and venturing outside to maintain social interactions.
- Phoneday! =)
- Wordle: In five!
- Currently feeling: Huzzah for more sunshine!
- Currently looping: Still loving that Spotify “Twee” playlist.
Day Seven Hundred and Sixty-Six (4/17/22)
- Happy Easter to those who celebrate! (And Happy Passover and Ramadan to those who celebrate those! Wow, lots of holidays!)
- My parents, my second cousin, and my boyfriend came over for Easter dinner. My mother cooked hella Italian food.
- The Mets won! Huzzah!
- Wordle: Oops.
- Currently feeling: First family holiday meal with the boyfriend! I think it went well?
- Currently looping: The sounds of baseball on television?
Day Seven Hundred and Sixty-Seven (4/18/22)
- Did the FES cycle. Caught up with Jon Stewart’s show.
- Tried to throw garbage down the chute, but it got stuck in the chute entrance. Because I’m super coordinated when it comes to throwing out garbage.
- Went for a facial. Way less inflammation, so, yay!
- Went to a friend’s karaoke birthday party and met a bunch of her friends (including a fellow My Chemical Romance fan!). My vocal cords are shot. This is what I get for not doing vocal exercises for months.
- Phoneday! =)
- Basketball playoffs already started? Where does the time go?
- Wordle: In four!
- Currently feeling: Sleepy, but relieved that I missed the rain while I was outside.
- Currently looping: Spiritbox’s “Eternal Blue” album.
Day Seven Hundred and Sixty-Eight (4/19/22)
- Went to Push to Walk! Learned some lower back stretches (it’s been hella tight lately).
- Phoneday! =)
- My bestie came over for her pre-birthday celebration. We caught up, watched “Stardust,” and got misty-eyed over the adorable schmaltziness. Also, young Charlie Cox ❤
- Wordle: Whoops.
- Currently feeling: I love love. And also the wardrobe and styling in “Stardust.”
- Currently looping: Listened to lots of ‘90s alternative music at Push to Walk.
Day Seven Hundred and Sixty-Nine (4/20/22)
- Finally started “Moon Knight.” Love Oscar Isaac ❤
- Therapy!
- It’s so sunny outside! But I’m so behind on work.
- Got some work done!
- I’m slowly converting my boyfriend into a Mets/baseball fan. He’s now realizing that Mets fans are hopelessly optimistic in every game no matter what, and then get our hearts broken. I think he’s pondering his team choice. Alas. #LGM
- Wordle: Whoops.
- Currently feeling: Huzzah for getting some work done! I’ll go outside eventually!
- Currently looping: Stars’ “Your Ex-Lover is Dead.” You know I love a good breakup song. Even if I just listen and think of how academia is a trap.
Day Seven Hundred and Seventy (4/21/22)
- Did the FES cycle.
- My mother’s here! She baked rugelach. Mmm…rugelach.
- Yay, Mets!
- I have been doing a not so great job keeping up with the NBA playoffs. Whoops.
- Got a bit more work done with this article, so, yay!
- Phoneday! =)
- Wordle: In four!
- Currently feeling: As long as the work trudges forward, it’s in a better spot today than it was yesterday. And at this point in the program, that’s all I can hope for.
- Currently looping: Stars’ live performance of “Your Ex-Lover is Dead.” I mean, yeah, the hipster vibes are undeniable, but it’s a great song.
Thanks so much for reading! Stay safe, wear a mask, and go watch “Stardust”! Seriously, it’s amazing.
