Greetings, Internet! I hope everyone’s staying as safe and sane as can be! This week, my sister was in town, so we ate all the noms and did oodles of crossword puzzles while watching hella movies! Daily summaries below!

Day Six Hundred and Thirty-One (12/3/21)

• Went to Push to Walk! Tried out a different piece of equipment.
• Realized how much I’ve spent this holiday season thus far, and I’m embarrassingly close to needing an intervention. Holy moly. To be fair, a decent chunk of the incoming credit bill was for medical things, but still.

• Currently feeling: Where does the time go?
• Currently looping: Norah Jones’ “Christmas Calling (Jolly Jones).”

Day Six Hundred and Thirty-Two (12/4/21)

• Did the FES cycle. Watched a couple more episodes of “Ted Lasso.”
• Filmed something, but it’s kind of unimpressive. I may have to try again.
• My bestie came over for movies and a catch-up! I got to introduce her to “Kill Bill: Vol. 1.”
• Total videos watched by other YouTubers: 16. Still so many to go.
• Currently feeling: I told myself that I would go to bed before 1am, even though my bestie was stopping by. Yeah, that’s not gonna happen.
• Currently looping: John Legend’s “Silver Bells.”

Day Six Hundred and Thirty-Three (12/5/21)

• I went to a nearby bakery to pick up some treats. They told me that their wheelchair lift hadn’t been inspected by New York State yet, and so they gave me my order on the house, which was super nice of them.
• MY SISTER’S HERE! <ALL OF THE CONFETTI>
• My sister and parents came over with a Sicilian pizza from one of our favorite pizza places in Brooklyn.
• We then ate the treats I got for free. So good. So full.
• My sister and I later went to meet up with a friend of hers for soba noodles. We ended up doing a tasting menu, which was not actually a tasting menu, but a full six-course meal and by the last two courses I was basically too full for anything (yet I somehow made room for dessert). So that was unexpected.
• My sister and I then watched “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers” and worked on a crossword.

• Currently feeling: Somehow ending up going to bed after 1am again, but YAY, MY SISTER’S HERE!
• Currently looping: John Legend’s “Christmastime is Here.”

Day Six Hundred and Thirty-Four (12/6/21)

• My alarm didn’t go off. Or maybe it did, but then I turned it off in a half-asleep daze and fell back asleep.
• Did the FES cycle. My sister and I worked on a crossword.
• Went out for a late lunch!
• More crossword! Had “Les Misérables” on in the background. I can’t not sing along to “One Day More.” It’s just so epic.

• Currently feeling: I love doing crosswords with my sister ^_^ But also, there are several things I should’ve done today, including ordering new electrodes for my FES cycle. Ah well, I can always call them tomorrow.
• Currently looping: Norah Jones’ “Winter Wonderland.” I’m really digging her holiday album.

Day Six Hundred and Thirty-Five (12/7/21)

• Went to Push to Walk! The platform walker broke (<sobs>). I also got to see someone I hadn’t seen in such a long time, which was delightful!
• My mother’s here! She brought apple pie. ‘Twas delicious.
• Writing workshop!

• Currently feeling: I am going to be sore tomorrow, but it’s all good.
• Currently looping: Norah Jones’ “Run Rudolph Run.”

Day Six Hundred and Thirty-Six (12/8/21)

• Yup, I was sore. But it was all good.
• My sister had hella work today, but at least we got to have lunch and dinner together. And pie. And also cake.
• Tried to make an appointment with the surgeon (the saga continues) because I have some things I need to discuss (and I might need two more procedures? Who knows at this point?), and I overshared way too much to the very nice person who picked up the phone. Whoops.
• Ordered electrodes for my FES cycle. I’m very close to running out. You’re supposed to replace them every month or so, but I’ve been stretching a pack up to three months, because they’re kind of pricey.
• Video chatted with the professor I taught for last year. I mentioned I might just busk if the academic job market is terrible, and joked that it had the same job security as adjuncting anyway. She laughed, but also now I’m wondering whether I gave her cause for alarm. More whoops.
• After my sister finished her twelve-hour work day (oof), we watched “Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2.” We started a new crossword.

• Currently feeling: Got a decent amount done today, and there was pie!
• Currently looping: Pentatonix’s “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.”

Day Six Hundred and Thirty-Seven (12/9/21)

• My sister went out for treats from a nearby bakery. The hot chocolate she brought back was delightful (and might be the best in the immediate area).
• Did the FES cycle. Watched the “Ted Lasso” Christmas episode. I’m not sure why people had an issue with it? I found it delightful.
• Therapy!
• My sister and I watched the live “Facts of Life” broadcast, and then some “Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.” She brought four crossword puzzles with her from the NYT Magazine. I usually can’t do a crossword on my own (I second guess all of my answers), but this time I completed about 75% of one and I’m super proud of myself.

• Currently feeling: I haven’t asked this one professor to be my second dissertation reader yet, but I’m starting to think that maybe I should ask someone in a different department (and who studies my region, but in a later period, for some comparison). I need to ask my advisor what he thinks.
• Currently looping: Kate Havnevik’s “Winter Wonderland.”
